Terms of Use

1. The service

Soko Connects helps farmers, traders and buyers post listings to sell or buy crops, find suitable matches, get connected, and see market prices. The service is free for now. If we introduce fees, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance, and you will not be charged anything without agreeing.

2. Who can use it

• You must be 18 or older.
• Give true information about your name, your role and your area.
• One phone number is one person. You are responsible for everything done with your number.

3. Your listings

• List only crops you really have or are allowed to sell, or genuine needs to buy.
• Quantity, quality, price and place must be accurate. Update or close a listing when things change.
• A listing ends after 14 days unless renewed.
• We may refuse, change the status of, or remove a listing that breaks these terms.

4. Connections and trades

• We share phone numbers only after both sides agree. Use that number for that trade only.
• Soko Connects is not a party to your trade. We do not hold money, and we do not guarantee quality, quantity, payment or transport. The agreement is between you and the other person.
• Confirm quantity, quality, price and transport before paying. Never send money before you receive the goods.

5. Not allowed

• Fraud, false listings, or asking for advance payment in order to deceive.
• Harassing, threatening or insulting anyone.
• Sending unwanted bulk messages, or using the service in a way that harms it.
• Goods not allowed under Tanzanian law.
• Using other people’s numbers or information for other purposes.

6. Reports and suspension

If you have a problem with someone you were connected with, reply REPORT on WhatsApp. The person you report is not told. We may suspend or close the use of anyone who breaks these terms, or remove their listings.

7. Market prices

The prices we show come from users’ reports and are a guide only. They may be incomplete or change; we do not guarantee they are accurate.

8. Messages we send you

By messaging us, you agree to receive replies, reminders and questions about your listings and trades on WhatsApp. If you want to stop receiving reminders, tell us.

9. Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from trades between users, inaccurate information given by users, or the service being unavailable or delayed. The service is provided as it is.

10. Changes

We may change the service or these terms. The new version will be posted here with a new date; we will announce major changes on WhatsApp. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept the new terms.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. We will first try to settle any dispute by discussion; if that fails, it goes to the courts of Tanzania.
